100%. It’s a defensive upgrade at a position of need and a near-lateral offensive move in the middle of the lineup (peep their numbers side-by-side since Semien’s extension in ‘22).

He’s a pass for me tbh. He can def mash, walk, & steal, but we’ve learned he can’t hit velocity (.095 vs 93mph+ in NPB 2025), and he has no defensive range. Okamoto, though, offers the same production (more runs produced & equal homers in fewer career PA, .440 vs 93+ in ‘25), plus defensive upside 👀

Scouts are saying even Ewing looks like a natural in CF, like there’s no shortage of talent coming. I do think Bader would be a helpful reinforcement, but he’s gonna want more than we should give him; if they could sign Belli & flip prospects for an arm, I’d be interested, but that’s a long shot too
