Stafford Orchestra, Staffs Chamber Orchestra.
Originally from Hampshire, almost a Midlander now (after 40 years). Still talks funny though.
Amazing - I discovered this recording a couple of days ago. It's beautiful and I want to play it, but it's still unpublished as far as I know. Robert Plane is doing great work!

Never had the chance to play #clarinet quintets until now... I have Mozart, Brahms and Weber (ugh) already, what else should we try?
I know that's enough to keep us busy, just want something a bit different. Coleridge-Taylor sounds like fun... is it???

Car broke down 5 mins from home. RAC says 4 hours plus. Fair enough, I'm not a priority. My wife comes to get me, the ETA changed to 15 mins. Fine, I say, I'll wait. She leaves, ETA now 3 hours. Grr.

Exciting concert tonight with Stafford Orchestra. I was a bit anxious as the programme was not only very ambitious (as it often is), but also included one of my pieces. Full house as well!

We absolutely smashed it. I'm tired now.

This thread is so important.
Ah, I see this time the politician crowing about "modernising the NHS" and "saving billions cutting bureaucracy" is wearing a red rosette. I genuinely wonder if any minister for health has ever actually considered the role of administration within the National Health Service.

Grr wordle.
Lost my 104 day streak and 99% strike rate this morning.

This, and the replies.
Another tragedy of the Great War, robbed us of so much brilliant writing that absolutely encapsulated England.

As I was saying...
I don’t want a lot for November
There is just one thing I need
I don’t care for early Yuletide nonsense
Underneath any sort of coniferous tree
I just want to avoid this ode
More than you could ever know
Make my wish come true
All I want for early references to it is…
a man with long hair and a beard is holding a gun that is shooting flames

Somehow every series of #TheTraitors is better than the last! How do they do that? Never thought a celebrity version would work, but wow.

What’s the betting that the University’s senior management didn’t even consider this point, let alone quantify its likely impact, before deciding to “suspend” music.

House at the back of us is having a massive firework display in the garden. Next door's dog is going mental.
Why do we still allow this? It's cruel.

If you haven't read the Wikipedia page about the Aberfan disaster, please do.

The warnings were all there, from engineers, miners, experts - and were ignored. Afterwards the government and the Charity Commission effectively stole donations made to the town, to pay for the removal of the tip.
