On Dec. 6, 1917 at 8:45 a.m., the Imo and Mont-Blanc (which was packed with explosives) collided in Halifax Harbour.
At 9:05 a.m., the Mont-Blanc exploded. The 2.9 kiloton blast levelled most of Halifax, killed 1,700 and injured 9,000.

Sitting here with Tim Cook's book open on my lap when I find out that he is gone. When I met him he said he'd read my book and signed his to me from one historian to another, he a highly prolific, brilliant, and decorated PhD in military history, me a rank amateur. RIP, Tim you were so kind!🥺
