Just finished Then She Was Gone
by Lisa Jewell.
Was recommended to me and I’m grateful. I give a new (to me) author or book 30 pages to grab me and this thriller had me from the jump. These 358 pages flew by. Kudos to the author.

Just finished reading:

Sing, Unburied, Sing
by Jesmyn Ward
A contemporary Southern Gothic set in rural Mississippi, this book is a slow burn at first but builds to a rewarding page turning intensity. Glad I finally read her…

I just finished Imani Perry’s “South to America: a journey below the Mason-Dixon to understand the soul of a nation”
More of a meditation than a history. Poignant, feisty, often funny, but imbued with a fierce love of place.

My first @nnedi.bsky.social book was Who Fears Death ten years ago which remains a favorite.

Just reread the tenth anniversary edition

My library hold on Death of the Author has finally arrived so I now have 435 more pages of Nnedi to read and enjoy, my twentieth Nnedi book so far.

Just finished reading my first Gabino Iglesias book. Got interested following him on BlueSky. The idea of a crime and horror novel set in San Juan during and after hurricane Maria proved particularly intriguing. Waited 4 months for my library hold to come up but well worth the wait.

Favorite biblical movie: Jesus Christ Superstar. I view it every Easter on DVD. Still moves me more than any of more pious traditional biblical movies…
