Here's her in the aqua treadmill. You can see those back legs are trying to work and she even gets a few steps in. A big part of why she's staying up there is to keep at this so we can get that leg strength up and get her walking.

On the update, it says that I'm posting two videos. Since bsky won't let me upload media all in one shot, the videos are after. Suffice it to say, she's making such good progress!

Most importantly, she's pain-free! Her incision has healed and she's got her personality back. I said I was worried she wouldn't be "her" and I'm so glad to say that isn't the case. She's the same feisty, loving and sweet girl she's always been. I love that for her (and me). So.. now the update

Maia came home about three weeks ago. I've been working from home ever since. Work's been very considerate during this and I can't thank them enough. Maia has Range of Motion exercises twice a day every day. Honestly, sometimes it's tedious but I'm so glad she's home.

generous. We got about 10% of the vet bills paid from that, but the goal was never "Pay this for us", more like "We could use some help so if you'd like to, here's how." The vet bills are paid off now and hey... retirement funds are really only if you plan to retire, right?

Yesterday morning, "She's got some feeling in the back right paw, not much in the left." Afternoon, it was "You might want to invest in a wheelchair for her, at least while she's in rehab." Idk but I'm heartbroken. She's coming home tomorrow for the weekend, then goes back for more rehab Monday.
