17 years ago today, Samsung announced its first TouchWiz phone for the US, the Delve R800. TouchWiz was one of Samsung's attempts to answer the first iPhone, before they settled on Android.

19 years ago today, the first phone for the US with a FastTap text keypad was announced. The LG AX-490 had keys-between-the-keys in a unique alphabetical arrangement. Many phones of this era had creative designs in attempts to optimize for text messaging. #TBT
