Phoenix Cinema, East Finchley. An ‘old-fashioned’ cinema as I like them. The seats are comfortable and the films on show are excellent (lots of old European films). It was built in 1910 and it is the oldest purpose-built cinema in the UK.

Il est universitaire et ministre de l’Enseignement supérieur. Cette déclaration est la négation totale de l’éthique de la responsabilité chère à Max Weber. C’est un affront à la vérité et à la liberté académique. Cela contribue à affaisser nos repères intellectuels et moraux. On va à la catastrophe.

La RP néerlandaise aboutit à une fragmentation extrême et une absence de majorité claire. Ce système ne peut fonctionner que dans un pays doté d’institutions sociales de concertation reposant sur le compromis. La France est aux antipodes de ce système et l’introduction de la RP ne résoudrait rien.

I just ran the Frankfurt marathon in 03:06 despite a strong wind blowing on the runners’ face during the race. It was my first marathon in 4 years because of a persistent Achilles injury. I enjoyed the iconic finish on the red carpet inside the Festhalle at Messe #Frankfurt. Cool and fun! 🇩🇪

I just ran the Frankfurt marathon in 03:06 despite a strong wind blowing on the runners’ face during the race. It was my first marathon in 4 years because of a persistent Achilles injury. I enjoyed the iconic finish on the red carpet inside the Festhalle at Messe #Frankfurt. Cool and fun! 🇩🇪
Labour vote collapsed in one of its historic bastions in 🏴. The left seems happy that Reform’s candidate got defeated thanks to tactical voting. I find the result very worrying: Reform did well and had the biggest increase in votes. It could win next time round. The situation reminds me of France:

At the Barbican tonight to watch ‘I was a Teenage Sex Pistol’, a great documentary which tells the story of the punk band from the perspective of Glen Matlock (in attendance). Matlock was the ‘musical Pistol’ who got kicked out of the band and replaced with Sid Vicious who could not play the bass.
