Thatcher's government did this with Section 28, banned the "promotion of homosexuality" as a danger to children, while actively protecting Jimmy Savile and who knows how many other pedophiles. It's the same damn playbook.
I cannot begin to properly articulate how upsetting it is to have had people baselessly accuse trans people of being groomers and pedophiles only for it to come out that they were deliberately doing this as part of a project to provide cover to actual groomers and pedophiles in positions of power

Also, people very successfully date people whose genitals they don’t like because there’s more to sex than genitals, something one would hope trans people know well!
I think I prefer people who respect me and don’t wanna date me because of my genitals to people who say “I’m straight but I always wanted to fuck a trans”.

there's at least one example on this very list i was scared to mention because of how severe and traumatizing the abuse apologist backlash *from the left* has been in the past for pointing it out. if you name the wrong sexual predator, the punishment is swift, severe, and cruel.

it's because the notion that child sexual abuse is some uniquely taboo universally reviled übercrime for which men can easily get their lives/careers ruined is a myth and always has been. it's always been tacitly permitted, winked at, ignored, excused, and downplayed across all sectors of society.
Maybe it's my Autism Brain or whatever, but I don't really get why anyone who had access to this stuff wouldn't have splashed these horrific revelations literally everywhere the second you knew about them. Take these fuckers down.

Well my partner and I are up shit-creek financially because of this but our little dog is going into surgery now and the vet feels very optimistic about likely outcomes. Waiting to hear for sure but she’ll probably be okay 😭😭

This morning my partner let our dogs in from outside and one of them had a thick branch impaled in her chest. Got her to the vet and waiting on a CT scan to see if it punctured her lungs and what kind of surgical intervention she’ll need. I’m a total wreck.

The parents of trans people are notoriously unreliable figures in our lives. The phrase "deadname" arises from our communal knowledge that our own parents will erase our transition and very lives for their own narrative convenience when the world conspired to kill us before our own parents die.
