I lost my mum 2 months ago, a week away from reaching a 101. She was Irish, came over just before the NHS was formed where she worked as a nurse for years. She was so funny. Last 3 years she had dementia, she’d have fecking hated it. I can remember all the good times with her now. Happy 2025 to all.

My beautiful 100 year old Irish mother was buried on Monday in the church where we went every Sunday as kids. She was one of 10 with 90 first cousins. She outlived nearly all of them. I’m not religious but I went to Westminster Cathedral to light some candles for her. She would have loved that.
