Candidate filing announcement! I'm excited to be running to continue serving District 40 in the North Carolina House. During my time in the House, I've fought to be your advocate on everything from common-sense gun reforms, to teacher pay, to free and fair elections. And the work isn't nearly done.

Republicans in Raleigh agree on how to fund Medicaid — and still walked away without getting it done.

Three million North Carolinians depend on it. Doctors are being driven out. Patients are losing care.

It’s time to come back and get this done.

Republicans are gerrymandering congressional districts again b/c they're TERRIFIED of accountability for their ruinous policies. Whether it's b/c they made NC last in US for healthcare costs or doubling peoples' insurance premiums, the last thing Republicans want is for voters to get a say. #ncpol

Important update on free and fair elections in NC! HB 958 will be heard in the House Judiciary 1 committee on Wednesday, July 31.

There's no democracy without accountability. Congressional Republicans just passed a massive and deeply unpopular bill that will gut Medicaid and throw 17 million people off their health insurance. [1/5]

Like so many others, I'm angry and worried about the "tax cuts for billionaires" bill passed by the U.S. Senate. It'll add $3.3 trillion to the national debt while causing 12 million Americans to lose healthcare coverage by 2034. Those federal cuts will make our budget problems in NC worse. [1/3]

Honored to stand on our Capitol steps yesterday to help deliver a clear message: No Kings—Not Ever. [1/3]

A quick update about House Bill 127, which would pretty much eliminate voter registration drives in NC. This was a concern a couple months ago, but the bill was pulled from committee. Now it's back and scheduled for committee hearing on Tuesday, 6/2, 10am, Leg. Building Rm 1228. #ncpol [1/2]

This shows gerrymandering destroying democratic governance: Republicans got ~47.5% of the vote for NC House in 2024, yet have 59% percent of seats. "In a functioning democracy where elected representatives feel accountable to the people, a bill this unpopular and dangerous would never pass." [3/3]

North Carolinians do not want this. Surveys show that *88 percent* of people think you should get a permit to concealed carry. Few things in public policy have such overwhelming agreement. States that passed permitless carry have seen increased gun deaths. We know these laws will cause death. [2/3]

Yesterday was disappointing, as Republicans passed HB636, which is a process to ban books in public schools. Everyone agrees we shouldn't have obscene books in school libraries, but librarians already handle that. Instead, this bill will cause political book removals, lawsuits, and wasted $. #ncpol

I was proud to join DNC Chair Ken Martin, DNC Vice Chair Reyna Walters-Morgan, and NC Dem Chair Anderson Clayton last week to talk about Griffin's attack on NC voters. I focused on preventing these attacks going forward, and here's some highlights. #ncpol

Hello friends! I wanted to introduce myself and start posting more on Bluesky. Looking forward to connecting here and talking about what's happening in the NC House. I'll also post some past videos from Instagram, including more about my background, but wanted to do a Bluesky video first. Thanks!
