All scenes need to be well-written. It's a non-negotiable for a tight sellable spec script. 😉

Very true, and sensible. Though there'll be times when an info dump will be required, where drip-feeding it simply won't work. For e.g. think The Terminator (1984) when Reese has to explain to Sarah what the T-800 is in the car park. It has to be like that. But it's SO tense. They're hiding from it.

The scene shouldn't just be about the disclosure of this information or it'll feel flat and blatant.
Consider having something else happen while the exposition is being conveyed.
For example, the best writers often use humour, action or high tension in such moments.

Exposition is a necessary evil; there's often no avoiding the communication of key story detail.
However, when writing such a scene in your screenplay, do your best to hide it so readers don't know they're getting it.

I have no doubt you can shave those pages off without losing anything vital.

And on script contests offering free feedback, a couple of things to consider:
"If something is free, you're the product." ~ Richard Serra
And when it comes to free stuff, you often get what you pay for.
Here if any screenwriter serious about developing their work wants to talk. DM me.

Not just Fawkes, all the plotters, even after they died! And apparently, one of them is an ancestor of mine! (Can I smell burning? 🙄)
