That one in the NES version was an absolute nightmare.
That and any and every dungeon in Phantasy Star 2. Those maps were absolutely obscene and the encounter rates through the roof.

Ambitious but messy in its execution. One of the better localizations when compared to previous efforts. It feels like there's a solid story there under the hood but the big twist was a bit contrived.
