I assume our highly-paid Antisemitism Envoy has made a public statement denouncing Nazis marching in the streets & assaulting people, including First Nations peoples. I assume she'll demand police take decisive action & they're charged?

I've probably just missed it, can someone send me the link?

Australians all let us rejoice
For my wisdom is a suppository
We've coal mined it all and play football
I shirtfront because I’m from Manly
Our land abounds in middle class gifts
We eat our onions rare
In history's fax let everyone relax
Cause Australia’s (mostly) fair

Societies can't let oligarchs get this rich. That's the problem. Tax their wealth and their influence on the rest of is diminished. Media would improve as a byproduct of limper oligarchs, and more connected, informed communities would result.
What is your proposed alternative to journalism???
We kept being told that journalism was a bulwark against fascism, a "fourth estate". This is the liberal frame for perceiving the industry's worth. But the reality is the polar opposite: fascism has been allowed to thrive, and could not have done so, without journalism.

Boy multimillionaires are good at getting media when they feel sad about government tax policy

Imagine if we reported on the feelings of young people who are worried coal and gas expansion will cause catastrophic climate change the way we reported on the crocodile tears of the wealthiest 0.5%…
"The vast majority of Australians have got less than $200,000 worth of super."

"We're having this entire media obsession about a small increase in the amount of tax that will be paid by people with more than 15 times that."

While the media drone on about how hard it is for people with most than $3 million in super to lose some of their tax breaks, in reality the vast majority of Australians have less than $200k in super. The median for a 60 year old woman is just $158k, which means half of women have less than that!

A reflection on Paul Kelly's Post, still one of the best records he ever made. Realised it turned 40 this month and went back to it www.theguardian.com/music/2025/m...
Paul Kelly’s Post at 40: the album in which a future star found his voice
It was the launchpad for everything that followed, but the singer-songwriter’s 1985 record – made on the smell of an oily rag, when he was down and out – almost didn’t happen

The welcome to country was booed at the Melbourne dawn service.

This group of bad actors, "Advance", has been aggressively sowing hate and division behind-the-scenes against the Indigenous ceremony.

Advance is quietly funded by the Liberal Party. (ICYMI:)

I've seen some of the latest polling (some) and as far as the general Australian electorate is concerned, Peter Dutton stinks like the fetid carcass of a 10-days-dead whale washed up on the shores of Desperation Beach.

His stench of failure is everywhere.

And a falling tide grounds all boats.

A balanced parliament means no one party has all the power. They have to listen, negotiate & act. That’s how independents have delivered progress on climate, tax, housing & more. Not spin—results. This is what Australia needs. Independence works.

The best way to boost housing supply is to build more houses

Labor’s plan to build more houses is good, but it’s not new and it’s not radical. The Defence Housing Authority has been building houses and renting them out/selling them on for decades

More is good!

I bet they are still BFFs - and it's nothing more than a deliberately planted false story.
