Was waiting for the late news and happened instead to catch the end of the Last Night of the Proms: union jacks waving, Jerusalem sung by a jubilant audience. All this on the same day violent far-right protests filled central London. Like a scene from dystopia…except it was real.

1/6 Political violence is a threat to democracy.

It exists on both sides — and it should never be accepted. But let’s be honest: calling it a “leftist problem” is dishonest.

The data shows it’s overwhelmingly a right-wing issue.

This was an amazing performance. Brilliant storytelling, compelling music and visually spectacular. Highly recommend for anyone that can make tonight’s performance at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.
Another wonderful rehearsal last night. Jonathan Dove’s Uprising gives glorious and moving voice to the anxiety so many of us feel about climate change and diminishing biodiversity. Profound and moving. 🙌🏼🎶 @rsno.bsky.social

Large numbers of families with no child maintenance arrangement is not inevitable.

@DWPgovuk is beginning to see the shortcomings.
