Starting to think I may have to get a new profile on here, as I keep seeing 'blocked post' placeholders, meaning people are signed up to that list I got added to. Absolute bummer as I resent having to start again because someone who doesn't even know me decided I'm a wrong 'un.
Right so I've created a new profile, @philippa11.bsky.social with the same avatar, started following a few people I know. If you currently follow me I'd appreciate a follow over there; not going to abandon this account just yet but am getting ready to move.

Read an interview with Lee Child and he seems like a decent sort, so I decided it was time to give Reacher a go. 2 episodes in, no regrets. Perfect Saturday night viewing.

I've heard this too, from someone whose Mum (or someone) worked with him: he came across as bland and dull on TV but in person was rather charismatic.
Apparently John Major *was* in possession of a formidable sexual magnetism though. When my ex's mum, a fairly well-known novelist and 'lefty liberal' type, met him, he shook her hand and said, 'Oh, your hands are warm; wonder, here they've been' & she blushed & tittered like a schoolgirl.

Merlin tells me I heard a song thrush yelling its head off on my way to the station. Given its name I thought its call would be more of a, well, song. Blackbirds are way more melodic.

I won't hear a word said against the cheese & pickle sandwich, except this is a poor example of the genre.
Proper school dinners sandwich this one, innit? Mum's rushing out the door, there's not much in the fridge, she's questioning if she still loves you as much as she thought she did, but she knows she still has to feed you so this'll do. CHEDDAR & PICKLE NO MAYO gets a passable but half-arsed 6/10.
