Hi! Are you bombarded by similar ads on your FACEBOOK feed? Are you confronted with a rash of ads for one particular type of product/service? Jewellery? Cars? Watches? Clothes? Loft conversions? Are they of interest? Did you once click on such an ad in the past? I'd love to know. Thank you x

I'm heading to Wigtown - the Scottish Book Town - for the Wigtown Book Festival, have reached the Lake District, AND THE SUN IS STILL SHINING. Unheard of! Here's the year I was there with Lucy Mangan. (She's the one of the right.) @wigtownbooktown.bsky.social

This popped up on my timeline this morning. With my constant philanthropy and radiating goodness and selflessness 24/7, even I forget sometimes just HOW giving I am.

Hmmm. So the low birth rate and migration means that there won't be enough people in the west do do all the jobs to keep the infrastructures working for the older generations. Hmmmm. I wonder what the solution might be?

Increased immigration?

Is this in response to the news that, just over forty weeks ago, The Local Radish, a store in Beech Grove, Indiana, hosted a Taylor Swift themed event called "The Local Radish: Taylor's Version," or just one of those mind-blowing coincidences that could throw the Earth off its axis?

Did I mention that I have a new picture book out on Aug 15? Pre-order it today (31 July) at Waterstones online - using the code SUMMER25 - and you'll get 25% OFF. And, even if you miss the deadline, it's STILL worth ordering at full price! [Illustrations:Maria Karipidou.] @walkerbooksuk.bsky.social

You're lucky, I'm expected to lightly caress a Van de Graaff generator, like a half-arsed crystal ball, whilst listening to a heavenly choir. Dare I ask what you were expected to mime too?

To get 25% off my latest picture book OLD MacDONALD ON THE MOVE, illustrated by Maria Karipidou, be sure to order it from Waterstones Online BY MIDNIGHT THURSDAY 31st JULY. It's out in early August and is jam-packed with silliness, fun, and "E-I-E-I-O!"s! Please share!

2/2 Trump will find an excuse to postpone or cancel them with a manufactured ‘terrorist outrage’, WAR or ‘civil unrest’. Opposition measures need to be put in place to make such action is as difficult as possible. The fight to save the mid-terms starts NOW.

1/2 DON’T LET TRUMP CANCEL NEXT YEAR’S MID-TERMS
With opinion polls showing Trump’s support crumbling and the cracks beginning to show in the Republican Party’s united front, do you really think the administration’s going to allow the Democrats to sweep the mid-term elections in 2026? No way. 🧵

That's right. If your dog destroys this bear we'll replace your dog with one with no teeth... so, in effect, you're getting a new best friend AND a cuddly bear. (Seems a tad extreme.)

One of the annoying side-effects of AI photos & videos is that animals are truly amazing without the need to create even MORE incredible situations & interactions artificially. Quite apart from their fooling some of the people some of the time, they can make the genuine article somehow seem lesser.

Let me recommend a technique not dissimilar to that employed in 'GRUBTOWN TALES The Wrong End of the Dog' where folk attempted to lure back a pelican who'd flown off with screen-idol Tawdry Hipbone's pooch -which she'd employed as a hairpiece - in its beak. They rubbed down a hotel in mackerel pate.

There I was thinking I'd have to learn how to drive, pass a test and get a licence but, according to SAGA, I can drive with confidence AND feel safe on the road just by taking out their car insurance! YIPPEEEE!!! @saga.bsky.social

Dear @andylaneauthor.bsky.social, I feel that, on a sunny day such as this, where temperatures & tempers rise, it's the perfect time to retreat to shady spot and a good book and to enjoy this serene vintage footage of the retired Sherlock Holmes, during his bee-keeping phase in Sussex. Please share
