The Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact or MRP was one of WW2's dirtiest deals. August 24th 1939 is a day that goes down in infamy - the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany got together and signed a non-aggression pact with secret protocols added which divided up Eastern Europe into their spheres of influence. This was not only the precursor of Hitler's initial invasion of Poland followed by Stalin's own attack on the east of that country, this was to have major implications for the Baltic States, for Finland and for Romania as great chunks – if not all the territories – of these countries were apportioned to ultimate "new management" at dates to be agreed.
