The recipients of the 2024 Athenaeum Literary Award are: Emma Eisenberg for her debut novel Housemates, and art historian Elizabeth A. Athens, for her critical history William Bartram’s Visual Wonders: The Drawings of an American Naturalist.

Joining the #ArchivesHandwriting #ArchivesHashtagParty with this manuscript of Diaetetica Sacra, handwritten (in German) by one of the monks at Ephrata, on handmade paper made by themselves at their paper mill. Undoubtedly written before they had their printing press! In the Athenaeum collection!
