Interestingly the 'fire engine red' color (the Texas one) or darker includes Biden '20 states plus TX, OK, IA, and MS of all places, but not IA, FL, NC, or AK, which we generally thought would be better targets.

The idea of Blexas 2028 though 👀

I've seen like 10 of these grok slobberfests and it's funny how none of them mention Tesla or Twitter... Always rockets. Shows you what he's embarrassed by.

I like Nonzero by Robert Wright as a Sapiens alternative! 1491 and Guns Germs and Steel (though flawed) are cool too. I've been meaning to read The Horse, The Wheel, and Language too.

This is also my position re: equity concerns. ‘get a good score on the test for which literally thousands of resources to prepare for exist” is far easier for low-SES applicants to navigate than the Byzantine maze of ‘holistic‘ admissions which have lots of unspoken rules, etc
going to reiterate a long time take of mine which is that grades and essays are far worse for disadvantaged groups than the SAT. A student in poorly funded school is generally going to have a worse essay and transcript than someone with a private tutor, meanwhile there are SAT guides on youtube
grades are an extremely messy signal and you do in fact need some kind of universal baseline.

At the very least this would be a good sign for UBI, but as implemented this particular idea would be super inflationary. But wall street would love it bc people blow this money on impulse buys and stock/crypto gambling.
