TMS was WAY ahead of the pack, but I really do need folks who weren't around for it then to understand
The oft-janky animation in Transformers and Joe and MASK and etc? Still WAY more dynamic and exhilarating than just about anything on US tv before them. It was a dang sea change.

The real problem for Bond is also the problem for Batman, Doctor Who, and dozens of similar characters -- the idea that a melodrama hero must also be a dramatic protagonist. The two roles are fundamentally irreconcilable. I blame George Lucas and Joseph Campbell.

I think digimon has gone downhill since it started regaining popularity!
I miss when the fandom was just a bunch of neurodiverse queers talking about our niche favorite aspects of the franchise, and when I was able to access wikimon without traffic-related issues.
