I made some films and things, including the feature Cat Sick Blues. Recently my pal Guy and I made something called The Unsolved Love Hotel Murder Case Incident. It's basically the movie version of our podcast Show Me Something Wrong.

Having missed the chance to get my name in the end credits of Cart Sick Blues I'm very proud to see it at the end of this latest film from @phantasmesvideo.bsky.social. A perfect 70 minutes of found footage/faux doc. Love it.

Fanboy time again!
Matthew Revert did the music for Cat Sick Blues and as most of you know that’s one of my favourite indie genre films…

My soul is dying with each passing minute of this film.

Blows my mind that this is a real thing ❤

COLONEL PANICS (2016) is cooked af. I couldn't even react to its deeply unpleasant violence because it's so deeply strange. I... liked it?

Cat Sick Blues directed by Dave Jackson. Too many trigger warnings for this space, but so absurd you’re going to laugh hard while you cringe. Put on your emotional shielding and enjoy this quirky movie.

That feeling when you're watching a Dario Argento directed Milano fashion show from the mid-80s and some hunk comes down the catwalk holding an actual cat.

This might be the most 90s film I've ever seen 💞

I know I'm posting this into the ether as no one follows me here, but damn we had a great time at the Tokyo screening of our new film, THE UNSOLVED LOVE HOTEL MURDER CASE INCIDENT. Shozin Fukui and Koichi Imaizumi came along, which was incredible, and the Q&A after was so nice. Best night ever! 😭

Tod Browning's THE DEVIL-DOLL (1936) has some properly staggering effects. Pure cinematic inventiveness. 😍

This poster for the bleak and amazing Euro crime thriller Almost Human (1974) is so wildly inappropriate. I love it.

Night of the Demon creates a lot of inner turmoil within me, tugging between my undying love of giant demon puppets and the stark reality that the movie would have been much better without a giant demon puppet.

It's comforting that in attempting to make the move from X to a new platform that @crobertcargill.bsky.social is very active here. It blows my mind that in my early days of Twitter, he took the time to say kind words about my dodgy old movie review site! Absolute legend.

EVIL IN THE WOODS (1986) is like ten movies smashed into one fucked up mess. I'm both bored and overstimulated watching it. I kind of love it.

My entire Bluesky feed is about how great libraries are. While I like libraries, I don't think the algorithm quite gets me yet...

I'm fifty years late to the game, but, holy fuck, GANJA & HESS is an incredible watch. If you've not seen this, fire up Tubi and dive in! A vampire (?) film unlike anything I've seen before.
