So last night I had a dream that I went to a shelter to be matched to an animal to adopt. They brought out a dog to me... on a cake trolley. A gorgeous old dog with a gammy eye and playful personality (also a bit smelly). I thought about that dog a lot today.

Me: "I stuffed tissues up my nostrils and watched no-commentary YouTube videos by someone who travels on ferries in Japan and films it. There are some great vending machines on those boats."

Unfortunately I caught a stinker of a cold which somewhat wrecked my festive annual leave & the associated planned PhD study time. Bit disappointing but the forced rest has probably been good for my brain I suppose. I'm toasting to 2024 successes under a heated blanket. Happy new year everyone! 🥂

Well. Hello there.

I'm a part-time PhD student in my second year with The Open University. Some days I feel like I have no idea what I'm doing. This, I'm informed, is normal. Well phew for that!
