The budget was not a workers' budget, it will result in workers paying more as income thresholds have been frozen.

One in four workers will face paying higher tax rates in the future, while also struggling to keep their heads above water. 1/2

"Scottish" labour the only party to vote against the motion. They really have given up, haven't they?
Mairi Gougeon MSP has submitted a motion condemning the UK Government’s decision to award a paltry 7.78% of the "Fishing and Coastal Growth Fund" to Scotland.

Scotland accounts for more than 60% of the UK’s fishing capacity.
Scottish Parliament overwhelmingly supports Scottish fishing
The UK Government’s decision to allocate Scotland only £28mn of the £360mn Fishing and Coastal Growth Fund is condemned in the Scottish Parliament

Wonder if @feargalsharkey will regret having supported #redtories when he also spouted lies about water purity in Scotland
"The UK Statistics Authority (UKSA) found that Housing Secretary Steve Reed – formerly the environment secretary – risked "misleading the public" after falsely claiming "pollution levels in Scotland are worse than they are in England".

UK environment minister Steve Reed claimed water pollution in Scotland was worse than in England. We fact checked this as Mostly False.

Now the UK Statistics Authority has stepped in. It said there was "the potential for people to be misled" by the minister's comments.

Dear Mr Logan, Thank you for your email of 5 September to the Acting National Statistician regarding comments by the former Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, that drew comparisons between England and Scotland’s water industry regulation. I respond on behalf of the UK

It’s easy to lose sight of what billions in PFI debt actually cost.

But behind every figure is a nurse working double shifts, a ward left understaffed, a patient waiting longer.💬

It’s not just numbers - it’s people.

“I do not support the proscription of Palestine Action”

How that would warrant arrest is very unclear. I wonder if the police here even understand the boundaries of the bizarre law they’ve been forced to enforce.

A helpful overview of #redtories in UK.
@johnswinney.bsky.social and @snp.org need to make this count
If Farage wins the next election, it will be down to one person. His name is Keir Starmer.
This thread explains why.
1. Destroying faith in democracy. The UK decisively voted out the Tories, only for Starmer to give us a Continuity Tory government, shamefully beholden to economic power.
