An appalling omission by @rte.ie . Most especially for young people watching. And we know many people emailed in to Prime Time in advance of this debate, calling for the irresponsible absence of climate change in the debates to date to be rectified.

Fully agree. Especially upsetting for young people, especially those voting in their first election, not to see the next President asked about the issue that will most affect their futures. @rte.ie have let them down hugely.

Nor can we! We've written to remind him that kids' futures depend on urgent reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, aka climate mitigation! We've asked he make a public statement reassuring kids in Ireland that the State will act to protect them from the worst of climate harms, as is their duty.
