Petty police officers.
Local news said Chicago Police had a list found with several officers on it that were members of the Oath Keepers!

It will get worse with Trump & qualified immunity for cops!

Without the tribe a lot of good news would just be #petty.
Going to boost @thetriibe.bsky.social here, a fantastic independent media group out of Chicago. Pay attention to what is happening in places where you live and where you don't, because many places are bellwethers. Look for who is doing the work on the ground.

West Pullman back to being a food desert. #Petty
@blockclubchi.bsky.social reported today that the Aldi on 115th and Halsted closed without notice on Sunday. This now makes West Pullman a food desert, according to their report. Aldi recently announced an expansion to the affluent West Loop.
“When you think about the West Loop, it’s typical. If you compare the options there, you’ve got Whole Foods. You’ve got a few other options… versus places like Garfield Park that have a higher saturation of food and liquor stores or other options that are not optimal.”

It is CLEAR: Safe communities are created by providing high quality affordable housing, good jobs, and good schools, among other things NOT by hiring more cops.

Thank you to the @thetriibe.bsky.social for this amazing journalism.

This week, Chicago began automatically ticketing drivers in bus and bike lanes in the city’s central zone. Warnings for 1st month, then fines for 2nd offenses of $90-250 beginning in December. wgntv.com/news/traffic...

The petty news that makes the entire city sigh.
A bit of good news on a difficult morning:

As of this week, Chicago has begun using automatic ticketing cameras installed on city vehicles. Car owners who block bus or bike lanes will receive a citation in the mail.

The pettiness we live for.
The two DePaul students who claim they were hate crimed a few days ago include a 27-yr standing around on campus holding a "come talk about Israel with an IDF soldier" sign. He was deployed to Gaza. You cannot make this shit up
