Jesus Christ, Victoria. I spend one day out of the state, distracted, and wake up to a new bloody liberal leader?

It must be Tuesday.

After running Darkfield FLIGHT for a few weeks now, today I take an actual flight to run an event in Brisbane: a Gatsby themed casino with a nefarious art auction for participants to bid their winnings on. A long day, but a pretty sunrise to give me a send off.

What a clusterfuck of a day yesterday. Got caught up in a bomb scare at work so stood in the rain for 2 hours waiting for that to resolve. And when I finally got back to my car at 10pm, the battery had died (nothing left on, so weird!). Cut to me driving an additional hour home to charge it up…

#Melbourne folks, best to avoid #NGV and Arts Centre, as police have shut down the area. Time to reopen as yet unknown.

When I arrived at work my colleague said “I didn’t recognise you, you look ethereal”

Is that just code for “you look dead”?

Tim Minchin at the Palais was everything my soul needed. Particularly special to share the night with an ex Butterfly Club colleague given Tim’s opening video.

What an incredible artist.

Back back back again helping to run Darkfield immersive experiences, FLIGHT and INVISIBLE in front of the Melbourne Arts Centre.

Rain, hail or shine, we here. And we’ve had 2/3 so far today.

I know I would be a much more creative, and prolific, artist if I wasn’t EXHAUSTED from doing all the other “rent jobs”.
Damn. This is amazing. £325 per week, paid monthly, for 3 years - and the result was a profit for the Irish economy:

Every now and then the algorithm leads you to something incredible, 5 yrs later than it should have.

I implore you to take 20 mins to watch this beautiful short film.

I miss being involved in projects like this, that to me are way more successful than a blockbuster movie.

Perhaps Wesfarmers should be using some of that profit to buy back the recycled soft plastics it uses for its products that cause the waste in the first place.

Top phrases I’ve learned today, that I love:

“Theftosterone”

“When we break, we wake”.

And “anger is the new femininity”.

Returned to a bar I used to LOVE but left after an awful encounter with a patron (pissing with the door open, entitled twat). Thought I’d try them again, but they’ve moved from being really supportive of Indy wine & beer, to having bog standard buttery chardy/ savvy on the menu.

No beuno. I’m out.

The movie they make someday about Big Balls will start with a SWAT team busting into DOGE headquarters and as they kick Big Balls down onto the carpet the image will freeze on his face and we'll hear his voiceover say "Yeah, that's me. You're probably wondering how I got into this situation."

Scott Morrison will be given Australia’s highest award for service as part of the King’s Birthday honours. The awardee list is currently embargoed, but Crikey has obtained and is choosing to report on it.

TW: men’s violence against women

An excellent read:

“… frontline advocates have outlined what works: shared data, trauma-informed systems, coordinated legal and therapeutic pathways. We don’t need more reports. We need investment and implementation.”
We know who's causing harm. The question is: why aren't we stopping them?
We know who's causing harm—yet systems fail survivors while giving perpetrators endless chances and protecting their power.
