Come on Wellington, answer an Evertonian's call.
I'm in NZ in December. Don't suppose you know anywhere in Wellington to watch the games? I know they'll be at ridiculous times.

Two big events in the House this week. The first is on Tuesday with the apology for abuse in state care. The formal apology is at 11.30am with speeches from the PM and the leader of the opposition, and a waiata. After that the House breaks until 2pm (the standard start time each day). 1/7

For the next two weeks, I'm in Baku, Azerbaijan, covering the annual #COP29 climate summit as one of the only NZ journos on the ground.

You can get an overview of this year's issues here:

And can follow my regular reporting here: newsroom.co.nz/category/sus...
Explainer: Four things to look out for at COP29 climate summit
Climate finance, carbon trading, New Zealand's oil and gas drilling and global emissions reduction efforts are some of the key things to watch.

“The truth is that the state has fought viciously and tirelessly against the people harmed. Elizabeth Stanley and Aaron Smale describe what happened. Our state has relentlessly denied and hidden what they have done, causing still more harm. And they have done it in our name, on our behalf.” #nzpol

Confession:

Seventeen Seconds

...are the only The Cure albums I've ever liked.

Can't stand any of their other albums.

There. I've said it. Better out than in.
The Cure return after 16 years with majestically sad, gloriously protracted Songs of a Lost World
Review - Few bands, if any, can make sadness sound this majestic.

Credit where it’s due.
The law has long been unfit for purpose where stalking is concerned - and this change has been a long time coming.
Awesome work by activists pushing hard from outside parliament, and credit to those who have been working so hard inside on this for many years.

Been catching PT for 45+ years so you can see the changes.
When the buses were stored overnight in covered buildings they left open to air. But being parked outside all night they are left closed and locked
The smells from the previous day are noticeable.
Recirculating the air con makes it worse 🤢
