This is not me saying that the scan found something and that they're lying about it (though if I read verified report confirming that they lied I wouldn't be shocked). More just that even banal things like "the scan shows nothing to be concerned about" is given the "Dear Leader" treatment.

Popper (for the social sciences) come to mind vis falsification since most papers that cite him can only very tenuously be said to be engaging in the kind of work he defined as scientific. (And, as many philosophers of science would contend, for good reason)

If you're interested, I actually went through all of the government administrative/department sites that were listed on USA.gov's agency index and looked to see how many were violating the Hatch act. The (IMO) most unhinged one was from the department of the treasury.

This is amazing! Thank you for forwarding this along! This is definitely worth exploring!!
(And it's a fair question! The answer is that reticulate has given me a fair amount of difficulty on my work machines. A lot of time it's env issues. Porting python functions in targets is hit/miss.)

Oh it 1000% is; it's overkill for my stuff too. I just struggle to find anything that's 1) Multilingual; 2) Well maintained; 3) Well documented; 4) Doesn't have an API that only makes sense to senior software developers and/or aliens. I can't seem to find anything in that sweet spot 😔

It's honestly pretty great if your entire workflow is in R. But it seems too tricky to work with multiple languages in one project for it to work with my brain. I'm starting to experiment with Make for that sort of stuff.

(It's especially tough when their population is really hard to nail-down or when, in the case of electorates, they don't even fully exist yet).

Related to your point: They (we) often tell you which message has the highest **S**ATE. **P**ATE is a whole 'nother ballgame---and not just because of inattentiveness. Unfortunately, no matter how many times I try to drive that point home to folks I work with, it's a difficult one to grapple with.
