Looking for the Vendon Fleece
1st of November 1977 our band The Oppressed ( I was lead singer ) played the Roxy ( just found out ) It was a Tuesday and we were supported by Young Death. I have not the slightest memory of any of this.

Read a Martin Amis story last night where Mal ( a bouncer ) and his mate Fat Lol were illegally clamping cars & leaving a phone number to blackmail the drivers for cash. All was going well until they clamped a group of opera goers by mistake, and got a really savage beating with iron bars.

Just learnt that in 1942 the Italian army requistioned Leno Ventura to fight the Allies & against the France he had lived in for 16 years. So he quit Paris for Baracé, where he hid amongst the villagers. I didn't know that. One of that generation that brought that incredible depth to French cinema.

A lovely photo! But, careful! Mirrors don't simply reflect. They contain things.

Kirkers! Have you read this? Where do you stand on Fish? Too puritan? He's great on cosmic misperception as a strategy to trip a reader up but bloating him with planetary vanity before dealing him a mortal blow & making him recognise his affinity with fallen Adam.

I don't think there is anyway you can overstate the importance of Nietzche's statement statement intent here. And I think, if you are involved in making something, a book, a film, theatre, you are either with him or not. It really is "which side are you on?"

Le Manège Enchanté is remembered in France; but with no
way the same passion as in England. Our generation, that took it to our hearts. For the French it's The Shadocks ( pictured below ) everyone loves. Dougal et al too gentle, aimless, melancholy, too frankly druggy for the French mind.

This is a line of thought that is maybe suggested by this well loved meme. And maybe we are all that melting dog; and maybe the tea tastes great, and maybe that's enough.
