There can be amazing outcomes from AI.

But as AI companies rush to make systems smarter than all humans, what might that mean for us?

And if the goal is human flourishing, what does that look like? What's the plan?

We need to make plans, debate plans, and demand community engagement.

There is a pretty massive AI wave coming and it is going to get weird, very scifi, and the impacts on civilization are going to be huge.

We have to start talking about what we want our world and these technologies to look like.

I'm working on events, workshops, conversation sessions to help.

Members will have first access to Zoom seats, but then I'll open it up. The focus of the program is to accelerate our learning, crowdsource wisdom, share my latest trainings with a live group for Q&A, and then take all of that and share with clergy, staff, and volunteer leaders.

For 2025, I'm organizing monthly UU Growth Lab sessions to share new training content, crowdsource our wisdom, synthesize insights. After the session, I'll share content through the UU Growth Lab member area and newsletter.

Recently I’ve had some great conversations with Elias Kruger, one of editors, on role of narrative in helping us engage and navigate the challenges & ethics of AI.

I’ve been working on nurturing existing AI large language models as more reflective, dynamic, intentional wisdom partners.

If AI companies are going to saturate our world with AI, I’m going to figure out how to work with AI to cultivate wisdom, connection, and compassion.💗

There’s a thriving pack* of wild turkeys in our neighborhood. Most recent count was 19. That’s a lot of turkey! I have a large pump 💦 squirtgun 🔫 for safely herding them when they are blocking traffic on our street. Ah, city living…
