Gonna say again, if Gavin Newsom really were to win the 2028 nomination, it would be the ultimate condemnation of the Democratic electorate - indicating that by "Standing Up To Trump", they just meant they wanted epic clapbacks on social media and not material opposition to any of his policies

I do think people overly catastrophize about the potential for civilizational collapse a la the Bronze Age collapse, but I do think it's actually a real possibility if agricultural productivity collapses due to climate change and soil degradation.

Not a criticism of this (excellent!) thread, or Casten in particular, but I do think Democrats need to start laying out clear, definitive and escalatory steps they plan to take in response if/when SCOTUS goes through with this.

It's so clear from statements like this that what drives today's neoreactionaries is a deep-seated resentment that simply having gone to college no longer makes them part of an elite-of-the-elite class and there are too many other people who went to college, too
