This is great. As a professional urban planner, this is a pretty damn political opinion (at a local level). 😀

Of all your posts, the ones that remind us of our empathy and solidarity and to take care of each other are some the best. ❤️ Well, that and the veggie McRib😀.

@planningautumn.bsky.social do you know if any NJ state agency is mapping all the affordable housing sites in adopted housing plans? It might be interesting.

NJ transportation planner here. Would love to know where all the sites identified in towns' affordable housing plans are located. Might help with directing transportation investments. My town put the affordable housing obligation in the downtown. 😀 That said, we only had an obligation of 45 units.

One way democratic members of congress can push the issue is to visit ICE detention centers - all of them. Pick one in their state or district and visit them. @booker.senate.gov @repsherrill.bsky.social @frankpallone.govpeeps.us @andykimnj.bsky.social should all pay Delaney Hall a visit.

Sadly, more than a few people believe bike lanes cause congestion. I distinctly remember Whoopie Goldberg blaming bike lanes for congestion on NYC streets. www.bicycling.com/news/a259374...
Whoopi Goldberg Couldn’t Be More Wrong About Bike Lanes
‘The View’ host said bike lanes have ruined New York City. The data proves her wrong—and the lane she complained about doesn’t even exist.

Uruguay sells more EVs per capita than the US?

Um...I mean traffic IS bad, but an hour away? Haha, on some days, maybe!

I'm still proud of Rutgers University faculty for getting Condi Rice to decline her invitation to be the 2014 Commencement Speaker, regardless of @barackobama.bsky.social criticism.

@booker.senate.gov @kim.senate.gov you should be embarrassed for confirming Marco Rubio as the Secretary of State.

Welcome! Now that you're here, maybe it's time you spoke up about Trump's attack on the US Constitution and American Democracy? Ya know, join some rallies and demand the Democratic party actually oppose Trump?

It feels like liberal political elites have adopted "abundance" as the new "deliverism" as the uber political theory for Democratic electoral success. Abundance will fail just as Deliverism failed.
March 21, 2025 at 11:09 AM
Which is insane. Maybe congressman Pallone can't communicate a message that places protecting democracy as a primary political message that resonates with Americans, but @aoc.bsky.social @maxwellfrost.bsky.social @repjasmine.bsky.social and @sanders.senate.gov can. We need new Democratic leadership.

He said that many of the people/voters he speaks to, "blue collar/working class" voters, that they don't care as much about Trump's attack on democracy, and care more about economic issues. That's what the focus has to be. He had no answer about how to stop Trump's shredding of the US constitution
March 21, 2025 at 1:14 AM
This seems exactly right. I attended a town hall event this evening with my congressman, Frank Pallone. He was unable to articulate a path for how to fight President Trump. When a voter asked about Trump destroying democracy and what to do about it, he demured. 1/2

"Therefore, I will do _____". It's not enough to say you are "concerned." You need to say what you are going to do about it.

"Therefore, I will _______". It's not enough to say you object to an action of the Trump regime. You need to say what you will do about it.

NJ's Adjutant General is Brig. Gen. Yvonne L. Mays. @govmurphy.bsky.social I hope you are having conversations on how to protect NJ residents from Trump.

@schumer.senate.gov @schatz.bsky.social @kirstengillibrand.bsky.social @fetterman.senate.gov I thought voting for cloture on the CR would prevent this from happening. Seems like Trump and Musk are doing what they want regardless of congress. Total failure on your part to fight this.
March 16, 2025 at 2:39 AM
Hey @schatz.bsky.social, are you ok with this? Too bad you pissed away whatever leverage you had by voting for cloture on the CR. I guess Trump/Musk can still do this even with the government open! You are an embarrassment.

Blue states need to set up public-owned banks ASAP, so these kinds of freezes can't happen so easily.
