I think it does all come down to the UK rail network desperately needing more capacity and the only attempt to achieve that for quite a long time being abandoned

One of the main reasons we need HS2 is to get passenger traffic off the existing lines so that freight can use them. That would remove lorries from the roads, make them safer, and reduce emissions.

(Oh and I barely use “AI” which is probably evident from my other posts, it hits the uncanny valley so hard it causes me to recoil and the output is so very regularly incorrect in areas I’m expert in its very difficult to believe that it’s output is any better in other areas)

As such I tend to have short YouTube documentaries or Twitch streams on in the background while I’m painting miniatures or playing video games myself. Something that worries me is that I don’t know how to go back to just focusing on one thing anymore (2/2)

I very much sit in the “I dislike *this* capitalism” area - I would very much like regulations in place to try and better protect workers, ensure that “quality” is somehow encouraged (rather than slop) and tries to better distribute the windfalls from successful productivity gains.

Just as a basic point of fact, Nick Clegg, the most globalist centrist you could possibly meet, knew full well that the referendum was not winnable and had privately resolved that he therefore had to make it a veto to continuing the coalition years before Brexit and the 2015 election.
