New 2.0 m TTT3 telescope images of comet C/2025 R2 (SWAN) suggest a possible nucleus fragmentation. Between Oct 19 and Nov 2, the once-symmetric central condensation became elongated, revealing a distinct secondary component — evidence the nucleus may be splitting.

I’ve made a short video showing comet C/2025 K1 (ATLAS) as it passed perihelion in November 8, 2025 — which, by the way, it has survived.
It was observed through the LASCO-C3 coronagraph aboard the SOHO solar space telescope, and I think it went largely unnoticed.

In addition to Lemmon we have another bright comet at its peak of magnitude 6, visible with binoculars from anywhere in the world
This is C/2025 R2 (SWAN), and here’s its light curve. Observable without moonlight (blue band) at the beginning of the night:

☄️New comet C/2025 R2 (SWAN) is now becoming visible from the Northern Hemisphere at dusk, low in the west-southwest horizon 🌄
With a magnitude 6 brightness, it can be seen with binoculars 👀 or captured with telephoto lenses 📷
🟫Not visible. 🟦Moonless.

📸🔭 October promises to be spectacular for comets:
☄️ C/2025 A6 (Lemmon) will reach magnitude 3–2 and be visible to the naked eye in dark skies.
☄️ C/2025 R2 (SWAN) will shine in binoculars, with long ion tails in photos.
We’ll keep following them day by day on these feeds so you don’t miss the show ✨

📸Comet C/2025 K1 (ATLAS) from Atacama a few days ago 🔭 just before becoming unobservable due to solar conjunction ☄️🌞
With a nice turquoise coma and two tails. If it survives, it will be visible again from the northern hemisphere at the end of October 🐻‍❄️

☄️Comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon) could be the brightest in a year, reaching mag 2 🔭👀
Here’s its light curve, with moonless nights in blue. After Nov 12 (red), it won’t be observable.
From the Southern Hemisphere below 20°S, it won’t be visible this apparition.

📸 Comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon) three weeks ago, just as it began developing its tail ☄️
Imaged on August 30: magnitude 11, well-condensed green coma, ion tail emerging toward the west (2.5′).
Posted late, trying to catch up 😓

Going back and forth with the SWAN comet images full of donuts...
This morning I had a celestial inspiration — remember the misframed shots I took the day before? What if... they could be used to build a synthetic flat...? 🤔

Voilà! It works! 🎉

I’ve got the L and RGB masters ready from yesterday’s shots of comet #SWAN25B. Let’s see what I can do with all those donuts 🍩 caused by overexposure 🌄 that the flats 💡 can’t fix. As for the scratches, let’s not even mention them — that’ll be half an hour of work courtesy of Eloncio.

🚨 New bright comet SWAN25B ☄️ at mag 7.4 with a >1.7° ion tail! In Virgo, visible after sunset from the Southern Hemisphere 🌍 (very hard from the North). Orbit still uncertain. Imaged it from Atacama—coma slipped out 😅 but the huge tail is clear. Tomorrow I’ll try again 🔭 and share more! 😉

📸 In the early hours of August 30 I captured my first image of comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon) ☄️
It shows surprising activity: magnitude 11 with a striking green coma.
Excited to keep observing its evolution in the coming days 🔭

And here is the interstellar comet 3I/ATLAS that I captured last week from home.
I was only able to stack 7 frames so that the nearby star wouldn’t interfere and to be able to measure the comet’s brightness.
At magnitude 15.4 with a coma of 0.6 arcminutes

📸 On Aug 21 I also imaged comet C/2025 K1 (ATLAS) ☄️ from home.
Poor transparency and wildfire smoke ❤️‍🔥😢 but still showing a 1.5′ coma and 5.5′ tail in a field with small galaxies 🌀 between Serpens and Hercules 👇

📸 Imaged comet C/2025 K1 (ATLAS) ☄️ on August 21, near the star 9 Herculis 🌟. Shining at mag 12.5, with a greenish 2′ coma and a ~20′ tail. It’s heading toward perihelion in October, with a high risk of disintegration ⚠️

The interstellar comet 3I/ATLAS barely changed between July 20 and August 15: a bit brighter (mag 16.5) and a slightly larger. Its evolution is slower than expected, though it could still increase in activity and become visible in amateur telescopes🔭. These are my first comet photometry using Tycho.

📸 I photographed comet C/2025 K1 (ATLAS) ☄️ again on July 21. Since my previous image, in just 15 days it gained a magnitude and its tail stretched to 3.5'. It's now entering the Milky Way 🌌, in Vulpecula 🦊. Still getting more interesting❗️🔭👇

📷 Comet C/2025 K1 (ATLAS)
This comet continues to brighten rapidly. I imaged it last night at magnitude ~14, showing a 3.5-arcminute ion tail. If the current trend holds, it could reach magnitude 8 by October — possibly becoming visible in binoculars from dark skies.

☄️ Comet C/2025 K1 (ATLAS) imaged a few days ago — still showing a small tail and magnitude 15. If it survives perihelion and maintains its activity, it could brighten to mag 7.5 and become visible with binoculars in October❗️👇
