Now that musk is saying he’s doing the DOGE stuff “because the globalists have plotted a Great Replacement in which they use government handouts to buy votes from illegal immigrants and urban blacks” maybe we don’t have to act like this is about deficits or cost cutting anymore

Make no mistake.

We are in the midst of a complete and total Constitutional crisis.
Two lawyers, one Yale educated, one Harvard educated; one the VP, one a senator, suggesting that decisions made by courts aren’t legitimate if they don’t like the outcome. This is dangerous territory.

Uh... Vance is wrong. I guess he forgot about the balance checks and balances that the framers specifically put in the Constitution ?
Judges are, in fact, able to block unconstitutional and illegal actions by the executive branch.

What's even more pathetic is that JD Vance went to law school.

I don't think MAGA or Donald Trump can claim Sam Lilley, one of the pilots of the American Airlines plane that crashed with the Army Black Hawk helicopter, is a DEI hire.

Much like how appropriations are a law, and how there's another law that says the President has to spend them as appropriated, there's *also* a law for this specific circumstance, the Administrative Procedures Act, which says federal courts "shall hold unlawful and set aside" nonsense like this.

The organization is openstax.org/foundation and has a number of different options. It is a great source.

What I’m curious about re the whole Colombia thing is simple.

1. Were the deportees in shackles when sent on the first flights to Colombia

2. Will they be in shackles for future flights

It appears everything else is exactly the same.

Anyone know ?

Really is the perfect Musk tweet: chest-puffing; endorsement of dictatorship; and, wholly erroneous history.

The phrase has no connection to Sulla or ancient Rome, it's the motto of Scotland, originating from their national flower, the spear thistle.
This is Musk's new pinned tweet.

- It's Latin meaning "no one provokes me and gets away with it."
- He attributes it to Sulla, the Roman general who marched on Rome, named himself dictator and launched a notorious reign of terror, executing much of the city's elite.
- It's never linked to Sulla.

1. A quick thread about what you're seeing here from Charlie Kirk and Vice President Vance (note: multiple falsehoods in these screenshots): Conservative ire directed at religious orgs that aid migrants and resettle refugees has been years in the making, and can trace its origins to the far-right.

I dedicated years of my life to reporting on January 6 and exposing what happened. I was there that day, co-wrote a book, and published a series of major stories on my own, for Rolling Stone, and for TPM.

I hope it mattered. I hope history will remember and understand what happened.
