Kids is different to me. I'd share a lot of T Kingfisher books, or other graphic works. And explain that DNF is okay if it's not an assignment

Reading is so personal, I don't know how I'd even try. There's so many reasons people prefer not to read. If someone wanted to make me go to movies or get cable, I'd hope they'd understand my no in the same way.

Of course, solving mysteries and injustices is the thing that gives her and her husband purpose. Trying to build the rest of their life, day to day is harder, as is not seeing all her friends as needing protection.
