I do not see how it is relevant to photography and post-production though.

I use Wicked as an example of what is wrong with contemporary cinema photography because it somehow manages to have that desaturated and generic look even when there is actual color on set, while most other movies have to restrict their color palette to achieve that. It is truly impressive.
