As Thanksgiving approaches, I am thankful for this place, and the community that gathers here.

The last year would have been truly intolerable without it.

My best to you and yours!

Just the usual misogyny, normal stuff
Looking at the disparity along traditional gender lines makes this much easier to figure out, doesn't it?

Definitely this. Use your own biorhythms to your advantage! I have no idea why but I get a burst of energy around 9 and get tons of chores done if I don't talk myself out of it for how it looks to the neighbors

Also, write up a budget for energy the same way you write one for money
Do not manage time; manage energy.

He knows he's lying about 30 million immigrants too
Ah yes, because supply and demand famously recognizes immigration status.

Case closed.
JD Vance: "A lot of young people are saying housing is way too expensive. Why is that? Because we flooded the country with 30 million illegal immigrants who were taking houses that ought by right go to American citizens."

hook JD up to one of those "experience period cramps" machines and watch him crumble before your eyes
JD Vance calls ibuprofen "useless medication" and implies it's not "necessary, safe and effective."

This is true in my experience:

"a reliable predictor of abuse is just men with unchecked power."
A beloved conservative trope is "queer degeneracy".

Here, nations fall to transgressive permissiveness. Men are effete, women are macho. Children are victims of orgiastic liberality.

Epstein's emails are a reminder of the sad truth: a reliable predictor of abuse is just men with unchecked power.

Holy F*ck. I hate it here
Under the Big Ugly Bill, Alphabet gets $17.9B in tax breaks. That could pay for SNAP benefits for 7.5 million Americans.

Amazon gets $15.7B. That could lower ACA premiums for 2.4 million people.

Microsoft gets $12.5B. That could cover Medicaid for 3.8 million children.

Insightful

"We've never been this informed," Welles tells NPR about Americans today. "Pair being informed with being disempowered — being that aware and having so little hard influence on the aspects of your life that you're so awake to. I think that explains a lot of people's frustration."

SEATTLE!!!

We’ve now taken the lead by 91 votes! 🤯 This thing is certainly not over! Over 1,000 ballots have been challenged, so if you haven’t tracked your ballot yet get on it! Our trusty volunteers have been working hard to "cure" ballots so they count! We're so close!

I'm not up-to-speed on New Glenn specs (thrust to weight ratio, etc.); but most Mars missions launch with some kind of "heavy" configuration with multiple boosters. This thing is going up with a single tube. Pretty impressive to put something into space that will escape Earth's grip.

Okay, so I did it. In honor of Sandwich Guy, on what should be the last day of his trial, I figured out the chords. And so, with apologies to the late and great Bob Marley, I banged out this quick and (very) rough rendition of "I Threw the Sandwich." 🤣

Yea, America didn't deal with their Nazi problem at all
I don’t think the Nazis completely lost, hence the Strom Thurmond and KKK phenomena. I think they regrouped and they’re back to try to finish what they started.
