🙏 @chrismurphyct.bsky.social and I’d also really like to know what Democratic Senators are going to do about the U.S. apparently disarming against Russian cyberattacks! This affects our data, infrastructure and potentially elections! Pls sound the alarm on this!

Trump administration retreats in fight against Russian cyber threats
Recent incidents indicate US is no longer characterizing Russia as a cybersecurity threat, marking a radical departure: ‘Putin is on the inside now’

I’m tired of disgraced politicians like Anthony Weiner and Elliot Spitzer (and a certain occupant of the White House) thinking they’re entitled to a come back. When you screw up badly enough, your redemption story does not flow back to public office!

As they say, usually the simplest explanation is the right one. To justify these actions any other way would require serious mental gymnastics.

Congrats to you and indie media! Pls. remember that what Dems and progressives will need is accountability—yes for this felonious administration, but also our own members. Don’t give a pass to Dems who vote for unqualified nominees or who compromise on tax cuts for billionaires.

@briantylercohen unfortunately Dems lack clean hands here. Yes MAGA’s incompetence is at the root of the FAA crisis, but 30 “spineless” Dems voted for Duffy and should be held accountable. The vote was 77-22-1. Sure Duffy would likely still be secretary without Dem votes, but we did not all oppose.

Hey @johnnypalmadessa.bsky.social is it just me or are you getting an uptick in trolls commenting on ur Threads? Just like hurling insults, calling you and supportive commenters liars. I want to keep posting there as I prefer the format, but is this par for the course or a sign of changing culture?

We need to keep the pressure up! Consumers of all persuasions need buying guides, like the one put out by the @naacp, of companies that remain committed to DEI.

How many videos of exploding rockets have there been at this point? I’ve lost count.

@briantylercohen.bsky.social presents a good convo about the constitutional crisis. But Brian never asks whether these Senators are doing all they can to stop Trump’s agenda. @corybooker.com talks about existential threats, yet voted for multiple Trump nominees. Brian should call this stuff out.

As to new DOJ hires w/ elite law school pedigrees, will there be any reckoning for Harvard, Yale, Stanford and others for breeding lawless lawyers? No one’s against diversity of political thought in law school. But something’s off w/ many law grads lacking commitment to the rule of law itself.

Seriously thank you for trying, @schatz.bsky.social and no one’s asking for magic. But seriously how was your colleague from Alabama able to put an 11-month hold on military confirmations last term? Teach us what procedural buttons you can use—and use them! See how they like their own medicine!
February 15, 2025 at 12:13 AM
Agreed, somehow the literal dumbest member of the Senate figured out how to wield the levers of power, but we have some of the best and the brightest and they can’t get out of their own ways.
February 14, 2025 at 2:00 AM
Sadly no. He was the only Democrat to vote for election denier Pam Bondi for AG.
February 14, 2025 at 1:58 AM
Seriously, we can’t find one Senator who’s willing to be *that* Senator—the pain in the ass Senator who’s willing to call quorum counts and withhold unanimous consent. C’mon Bernie Sanders? Elizabeth Warren? Y’all were invented to be *that* Senator!
February 14, 2025 at 12:08 AM
And yet for whatever reason, our legislators don’t get it. Is it because it goes against the norms? Is it because delaying things would be an inconvenience to them as well?

Update: I’m hearing Musk didn’t actually run the ads, but if the threat spurred #friendsofusaid to get organized then so be it. The attacks on #USAID are not going away and we need to be educating Americans on the good work the agency does around the world!
February 10, 2025 at 6:05 AM
@karaswisher.bsky.social can you help promote? I saw you post about some impactful ads tonight like Nike’s. This one from Friends of USAID unfortunately didn’t make the cut!
