There's always this insistence that people need to "learn how to use AI so they aren't left behind" and as an artist and an author, I don't know what there is to *learn* from models that were.... trained on my work.

a non-zero number of people have told me with confidence that i'll definitely be incorporating gen ai into my workflow in the future and im losing my mcfreaking patience. "it's here to stay" not in my fucking house. "but you need to keep up with the times" then leave me behind.

These are my favourites, both done by me. I didn't really have a computer that could handle either render at the time, so they were done in layers and everything out of shot got hidden or deleted... I love how they both came out though, maybe because of all the hard work that went into them.

Hey folks. Here's one of the animations I did showing an O'Neill Colony - basically a hollowed out cylinder in space. This one is 35km long and 9km across and spins once per minute (if I remember) to provide 1g gravity.

So someone took one of my sketches and fed it into an ai machine to 'finish' it and sent me the result I guess thinking I would be wow neat. I wasn't, it was an instant block.

I share my work for free in good faith... my work has been stolen in lots of different ways but this really sucked.

Every job you get AI to do is cash taken from working people, usually low earning freelancers. That money is now not in the system. You are not only making the world poorer culturally, you are making the economy poorer. And since there is no workable financial model for AI, not even moving money up.

The man was damn lucky Milos was still restrained although, he realised with a sick jolt, it might be a lot harder to punch people now. “I was expecting the same again but this . . . this is much more interesting.” “Great?” It was meant sarcastically, but the man’s eyes lit up. “Yes, it really is. You see? Your presence really is paying dividends already.” He sighed, his gaze fixed on Milos’s claws. Apparently Milos himself was surplus to requirements. “Your body holds the key to so many mysteries.” Just in case he thought things couldn’t get any creepier. Milos shifted again, testing the straps. Still too secure for him to slip free. He couldn’t even twist his wrist and curve one of these claws over to slice himself free. Or maybe just slice an artery open, if he was lucky. “Good for it.” Again the sarcasm went straight over his head. He was too busy staring longingly at Milos’s new claws.
