🌱🌿 Five Things You Can Do To Save the Butterflies:

1. Stop using pesticides and herbicides (unless you're trying to manage aggressive invasive species). Everything else I list will be designed to attract life to your yard and that's pretty pointless if you kill them after they arrive.
My body is absolutely livid with me the last couple days. Hormones are not playing nice, I don't think. Drenched in sweat, POTsie, queasy, emotional.

ObGYN wants to try a different progesterone birth control that's supposed to have less effect on mood. Fingers crossed.

I'm less upset about a questionable 72hr suspension than a permanent ban, to be honest.

This whole sofa thing is stressing me out. If it was just me I'd buy a moderately priced sofa I liked, knowing I'm pretty gentle on furniture and also can be comfortable on almost anything as long as it's not hard as a rock or massively oversized and soft.

But husband is a wrecking ball when it
Husband mentioned maybe it was time to get a new couch for the family room because Miss 12 and I don't even want to sit in there anymore because the couch is so uncomfortable. Is this my chance to get the couch of my dreams to lounge in front of the fire on?

Honestly though, how does one buy a

Hey! It's me, trying to see what you're stitching! Share your cross stitch projects below! Maybe find a new stitchy friend!

Sometimes I have to remind myself how many strands I'm using directly on my printed pattern.

There’s a special kind of hell for people from Gaza who aren’t in Gaza- Ahmad has been really struggling to send money to his family and he needs help
I’m sharing a Palestinian account every day and today is Ahmad. Ahmad was an accountant in Gaza but because of the siege moved to Belgium for more opportunities before the war, leaving behind his family including his children Sabri, 9 and Amr, 5 and his mother who was diagnosed with breast cancer.

if you can’t see the aurora borealis tonight, here is a sewer tunnel which is a wonder in itself.

The aurora must be fantastic. We have 100% cloud cover, unfortunately, but I took a picture of the sky just out of curiosity and it was able to pick up the colors through the clouds. That's a strong storm!

Miss 12 let me cut her hair for the first time and I managed not to massacre it. Any stylist worth a damn would clutch their pearls if they saw it, but it's even enough to satisfy her, thankfully, or the meltdown would've been a multi-day affair.

Nightly hair brushing will be so much easier.

Shoutout to the chronically ill parents who are showing up for your kids every day while feeling like you're dying. Nobody understands what it costs us. I hope we all have easier times ahead.

That feeling when the twine holding your expensive shearling slippers disintegrates and you have to weigh the physical cost of driving to a cobbler 30 minutes away against the financial cost of buying new expensive slippers. And no, I don't currently have the capacity to try and fix them myself.

Glad I waited for the Synthropol detergent to wash this piece that's all hand dyed fibers (except the white). You can see how much dye was released in the wash tub but the piece itself stayed pristine.

Our neighbor is mowing whatever grass is showing through the snow in his yard. Wtf.

I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO LISTEN TO SNOWBLOWERS AND LAWN MOWERS ON THE SAME DAY.

Okay but this really fucking sucks for gluten free people. Two of the pastas that are closest to gluten containing pasta are Italian: Jovial and Rummo.

One of my scariest driving moments: deer jumped in front of an oncoming car that was about to pass me on a two lane.

__ <-car
__ <-deer
__ <-me

Somehow instead annihilating us all, the deer swerved, gently bumped into my door, and then ran next to it until the other car passed and I stopped.
Sometimes I tell ppl the story of how a deer hit my sister’s car when she was 16 and flipped her into a ditch and now she’s scared of driving and you can always tell who grew up in the city because they’ll go “don’t you mean SHE hit the deer?”

no I do not
"Oh wow a deer so graceful so beautiful" a person with minimal personal experience with deer which are expensive car seeking missiles that your neighbors feed because 'there'll be a monster buck next year'

American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.

On this eve of fifty Novembers
the winds still howl
the bell still tolls.

My breath turns heavy
as we drift into the long cold night.
The Fitzgerald stirs beneath.

I harbor their echoes
and cradle her steel.

My waves bear the sorrow
of all I have taken.
