First day back at school for many today. I used to LOVE the first day back at school for one main reason .... new stationery! Pencil Case, Pens, Protractor, Exercise Books ... sometimes even a whole new bag!

I am treating myself to a new notebook and pen today to relive the memories!

Great to see play getting national press coverage - and the suggestion of a ban on ‘no ball games’ signs reminds me of the discussion at our joint UDG / LI London Play event a couple of months ago!

Delivery is the key word here. All we hear about are planning changes, but the truth is that delivery is what matters and that is determined by new home sales and nothing else … the only way to deal with waiting lists is to build more social housing!
Over the past 10 months this Labour government has taken decisive steps to ensure we are building the homes and infrastructure our country needs.

Good to be in Leeds for UKREiiF to discuss the next phase of reform and ramping up delivery.

EDGES

So often the edge of developments are the part that let them down. Apparently, the same can be true of woodlands, but while in new developments we have far to go, there is no excuse for poor woodland design anymore, as we have new guidance!

With the Silvertown Tunnel now open, is it time to reimagine how the original 1897 Blackwall Tunnel could be repurposed as an active travel connection across the River Thames? We think so, and have had a think about how it might work. Find out more: www.tapestry.studio/tapestry-tes...

Landscapers that lay astroturf profit from destroying your local ecosystem. Neither consumer or contractor pays the true cost of damages. Pavan Sukhdev calls this concept the "Economic Invisibility of Nature" and this is something that our Government need to start acknowledging.

Just watched a bit of Ghostbusters 2 for the first time in years .. made me think about how Europeans and especially Eastern Europeans are represented in Hollywood - frequently the bad guys or evil forces. May say a lot about the attitudes of the US to ‘socialism’ as the worst evil in the world?!

🤬 Consultants buying work .... so frustrating! Why don't procurement departments recognise that is what is happening?! Unrealistic fees means either a) you will get a junior staff member, not the senior CV that was submitted, or b) you will be hit with extras. Or probably both.
