I think while this whole idea of preserving games sounds decent on paper, it just doesn’t work.

How do you distribute it? How do you obfuscate it if it‘s written in an interpreted language? What about IPs and so on.
The ideal scenario for this would be that it‘ll become more clearly labelled when you buy or license a game.

Many servers for games rely on proprietary, oftentimes licensed software – who‘s going to pay for that? And what about patented parts of it?
Not to mention, companies would have to provide docs etc.

As a consumer, you can buy games that fully work offline and may avoid games that don‘t🤷♂️
But, I‘m against passing legislation that limits the ways that studios can create games.

With Iran, it‘s important to not only look at what happened in the last week, but the last 40+ years to understand what‘s going on here.
