Yes it's a great song from a classic album and deserves to be heard as widely a possible. I shall be going to hear them sing/play it in the lovely setting of Bath Abbey in a few weeks.

Yes I think in hindsight it is clearly a link between the 'old' Floyd and DSOTM. Echoes is one of their classics - the first post-Syd classic?

I know he was a British spy (alongside Ian Fleming) for SOE during WWII as well as being a member of the LRDG (forerunners of the SAS).
