Whilst delivering in Aberdeen today, had some time to visit the secondhand bookshops. Found these lads in one - absolute mint condition and only £3 each. Could not say no.

Afternoon, sir. All good here, hope you're well.

Currently making my way through Kirsty Logan's collection, Things We Say in the Dark. Cracking quiet, literary horror.

Went to a cat cafe in Birmingham train station today. Never been to one before. Lovely experience. Didn't take nearly enough pics.

Current set-up. Tuner, fuzz, and delay are off to the side as I dont have enough power cables for everything. That'll be the next step. But this is mainly what I use. Just got to tweak my sounds. But loving that Sentry. Eventually, I'll look into a better amp than my wee 15w practice.

New toy. Didn't realise it had a programmable function from an app. Just downloaded Scott Ian's The Wall. Seems to be working great.

Things taking shape...

Need a better power supply and another one or two pedals (at least 😉), then get it all dialed in.

Only watched this a couple days ago cos my favourite reactors on YouTube were doing it and ended up loving it. I now absolutely nothing about K-Pop, so took me a moment to get into the use of songs, but the characters and story were just top-notch.

Currently reading The Searcher by Tana French, and as always, her writing just pulls me in. It's rare for me to feel so immersed, so connected to an author's work, but every time, she manages it. Those top two paragraphs just hit me. Love it.

My first Sabbath album was Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, a tatty vinyl copy bought at Barrowlands market. I was obsessed. Pored over that cover for hours. It still sounds magical to me. Going to learn a few tracks from it.

Getting back into playing guitar, putting pedals together, finding my sound. Next couple months will be getting a pedal board, power supply, etc. Here's me playing the second verse, chorus, and rhythm beneath the solo of Megadeth's Family Tree.

That is fantastic!

Having slowly been making my way through the Gamera movies, I finally finished Gamera Vs Zigra today. Those Shōwa era flicks started great, but, like the original Godzilla films, steadily descended into garbage. I couldn't even finish Space Monster.

But now, I'm halfway through 1995's Gamera:... /1

Morning, hope you're well. I'm currently making my slow way through The Searcher by Tana French. It's even more literary than her previous works, a real slow burn, but I'm loving the writing as always.

Slowly but steadily becoming a bit of a guitar geek gear head. Bought the metal zone about 20 years ago, and have had the graphic equaliser for a couple years. All the rest I've gotten over the last wee while. Building up to getting a pedal board. Meanwhile, these things are an addiction.

Rewatching all of Ted Lasso - and loving it even more - and while searching for something innocuous, I found this thread on reddit. The answers to what I think is a bit of a blinkered post are thoughtful, insightful, and incredibly savvy about the show and characters.

I'm sorry, but this is a debut novel, and it is bloody fantastic. Terrifying, heartbreaking, utterly immersive, and incredibly well-written. It has me in a grip of tension and anxiety, and is probably one of the best things I've read in a while (and I've read some good stuff). Masterful.

Both met my expectations and exceeded them. I was expecting an off-beat, funny romcom, and I got that. What I wasn't expecting was the fury, the sheer rage of a woman living in a world that expects her to be quiet, demure, polite, etc. Loved it.

Just finished the entire Ted Lasso, after starting it Wednesday evening and binging all 3. To say I'm an absolute wreck is an understatement. Incredibly well-written, brilliant characters and acting, loads of laughs, loads of tears, and some incredible heart-wrenching and heartwarming moments. /1

Fully intended to do a great Discworld/Terry Pratchett reread, but my reading habits remain spotty. Still, did finish The Colour of Magic. I know many don't recommend this for a new reader - and I can see why - but for me, it's still a great first book in the series. Sure it's more lampooning... /1

Some payday book buys. Trying to up my reading through both physical books and audio, chip into my TBR mountain. Do love a spanking new hardback, though. Some dark thrillers and horror.

Just finished it. Absolutely loved every minute. Start to finish, it was just an absolute joy. Only wish there'd been more of it. Could have done with another 8 episodes easily.
