This has got to be one of the worst tragedies of the past 11 months because Republicans in Congress refuse to do the job they were elected to do. In 11 months we can create change by voting.

If the media reports are even slightly accurate about more Republican members of Congress considering following MTG by resigning then they should act now so we can save our democracy and sanity. You were elected to represent the people and communities in your district and you are failing miserably.

Is anyone surprised that the Trump administration would give Putin everything he’s wanted so he’ll stop killing Ukrainian children and families. European leaders must take control of negotiations without the involvement of the U.S. And, where are GOP members of congress on what is a death plan.

No one serving in this administration will ever rise to the level of @captmarkkelly.bsky.social He is dedicated to honoring our constitution and the making sure that our military have the resources they deserve. He protects the rights of victims of sexual abuse, and wants to end hunger.

@slotkin.senate.gov should stand tall in defiance of any threats towards our members of congress who have worn the uniform of our nation to protect our democracy. Americans need to get ready for even more insanity coming out of the White House and on social media. Most Americans are disgusted.

Is anyone else watching the funeral for former VP Cheney noticing all of the GOP Senators shaking hands and acknowledging this outpouring of bipartisan respect. They’re acting civilized because POTUS and JDV weren’t invited. They spend their time cowering to Trump when he’s around. They are phony’s

Then, @jackschlossberg.bsky.social announced that he is running for election to Congress to represent NY12 which is the seat being vacated by @nadler.house.gov

Today was a very good day for Democrats. First, @adelitaforcongress.bsky.social was finally sworn into Congress after Speaker Johnson stalled her appointment for 50 days. There are now 218 signatures on the discharge petition to release the Epstein files. No support from Reps. Garbarino or LaLota ☹️

If you are one of the millions of people across the United States and are about to lose your SNAP benefits due to the current federal government shutdown, you do not have to suffer in silence to feed your family. Please visit a @feedingamerica.org affiliated food bank of your local community pantry

Good article in @newsday.bsky.social today about the impact that federal cuts to SNAP will have on Long Island families already struggling to feed their families. Great quote from Michael Haynes, Vice President for Government Relations at Long Island Cares.

Long Islanders need to pick up their phones and call their Republican members of Congress and encourage them to sign the discharge petition.

What the f#uck has happened to our country and why did we let it happen.

www.tiktok.com/t/ZTHsmLXeba... This is a pretty good and factual analysis about why 47% of Americans have chosen to join the so called MAGA cult and it’s truly understandable. But what’s the excuse for Republican politicians.

Thank you to Long Island Business News for sharing the news about my plan to retire after 17 years as President and CEO of Long Island Cares, The Harry Chapin Regional Food Bank.

Happy Juneteenth. A day to remember and celebrate freedom for Americans who were oppressed for far too long. Sadly, America has decompensated when it comes to equality, diversity, and inclusion. Many of our political leaders and educators are shackled in self imposed shame.

Long Island’s own Adam and the Metal Hawks had visited Long Island Cares to film their special Christmas music video. They also performed an exciting set at our 2024 Donor Recognition Celebration. I’m so hopeful when young musicians join the movement to end hunger. @feedingamerica.org

It’s always great when @deesnider.bsky.social visits Long Island Cares-The Harry Chapin Food Bank when he visits his hometown on Long Island. Dee continues to speak out to end hunger in our nation. Our staff gets excited to meet and take pictures with him. Dee Snider speaks truth to power

@cbsnews.com this coming Sunday will feature a segment commemorating the 50th anniversary of Harry Chapin’s iconic song, “Cat’s in the Cradle.” I was proud to have been interviewed for this special feature. @feedingamerica.org

I’m sure that there are people who believe that Americans can turn things around by voting in Democrats in next year’s midterm elections. Well let’s see if there are midterm elections next year. America is spiraling out of control.

I think that many people in America and those in democratic countries realize that the United States is a nation in decline. How sad as we celebrate Flag Day. Our flag once stood as a symbol of our freedom and democracy. Think about what we as Americans have let happen.

The next time we see Defense Secretary Hegseth on TV, he’ll be orange. Make up can never cover up gross incompetence or make him qualified or effective in his job. DISGRACEFUL!
April 24, 2025 at 2:31 AM
What an embarrassment for most Americans to witness the President and members of Congress and of his cabinet turn their backs on the Ukrainian people. Europe should step in and insure that Ukraine becomes a member of NATO NOW! Our allies don’t trust American leaders who support dictators. SHAMEFUL.

I will also suggest that you check out “Resident Playlist,” which is the sequel to “Hospital Playlist” about a group of young doctors working at a hospital in Seoul and experiencing becoming responsible adults. HP also has one of the best playlists of K-Pop music.
