You know sometimes you get to meet your heroes and they disappoint you? Well not Alex. What a lovely, genuine, kind and humble man. I had the honour of meeting him after a gig in Bedford a few years ago. He remains grateful for the life he has had and really does appreciate his fans. Legend.

I think the real issue is that the internet and press have led to the footballification of politics. Years ago you could be friendly and have fundamentally different politics. Now it’s just outrage and irrational. It’s not politics, it’s a stoked war to keep us from the billionaires’ doors.
