Yeah, that's what it does.
But everyone also says their aurora borealis photos with their iphones are way more eye popping than what they could see with their eyes, and the phones aren't taking long exposures.

But it is spread after spread after spread, which is a *ton* of metaphysical work. So I'm nowhere close to done playing it. I can't do more than one entry a day because of the work it takes for me to find true interpretations of the spreads within the context of everything else.

Lots of games that use tarot get it wrong. They have the cards tell you who you are and actions you take, or they just use them in numerical ways to determine outcomes. Cage of Sand uses tarot right. The cards tell you about the world, and about people in it, and you tell the game the actions...

In Cage of Sand you're stuck in a time loop. Each looping is five interactions with characters that are two-card tarot spreads you interpret.
