Just stop with all this! Whatever happened to Budget purdah? Too many political operatives thinks it's clever to leak, hint, kite-fly? It isn't.

I particularly thought part of Blue Labour is about a return to jobs and wages circumstances where a working class family could afford for mum the choice to look after kids for a few years.

It was ever thus, true. One big difference though, it was much easier to oust a Leader in Wilson’s time even when that Leader was PM. Today, the practicalities are a big obstacle.

Dead right. If the BBC settles, it’s credibility is wrecked. Call Trump’s bluff. There’s a strong defence and $1bn damages claim is laughably absurd.

I think it's partly because engineers have a culture of precision so formulations like "typical home" are too vague. They ask "is it consumption in summer or winter and do all the houses have insulation, gas fired central heating ... because that significantly affects typical energy consumption"

It is said that 1 MWh of storage can supply 300 typical homes for 24 hours. So a battery rated at 200 MWh (the initial capacity at Blackhillock) can power about 60,000 typical homes for 24 hours. If the Jänschwalde facility stores 4 GWh, then that would power 1.2 million typical homes for 24 hours.

Almost every company, trust, school governing body has a clear expectation that directors, trustees, governors act in the institution's best interests. They can (and do) oust board members who act against these best interests.

Another correct takeaway is the eye roll and Panorama editing were not such serious errors to justify the crisis and carnage now unfolding. Trump especially: a 1 hour+ speech condensed to its essential point, he incited a mob to storm the Capitol.

It wasn’t “doctored”. A 1 hour speech was condensed to capture its key point: Trump incited a mob to storm the Capitol. Why is the BBC retracting and apologising?

Who does Farage want in charge then? "Unelected bureaucrats" and "experts" perhaps?

It is also (not deliberately I hope) learned from the Trump playbook: "let's see what happens ..." is regularly Trump's response to many intractable problems or like wars where he says "hey they should stop fighting each other".

And, if Jenrick went to watch Villa in 1986, he was 4 years old.
