It feels like an age since twenty hardy souls helped raise the first funds toward the original softcover of The Dee Sanction.

Now, as I edit a new adventure, one of those folk who chose a feather trader by the name of Rupert Dalton has found a home in the Ossulstone Hundred.

Hell's teeth, I need to catalogue my collection. I'll add Christopher Marlowe: Poet & Spy by Park Honan to your reading pile.

Many have said, but I thought that you might appreciate pictures.

Can you handle something like the Pacman suit? Flavian of Hatchette Games (in action photo attached) cuts a stylish figure at events. You know where he's coming from and what he's promoting.

There's got to be something suitable, off the peg, in waistcoat form.

I finally got around to grabbing the RPG to join the Tech Ops Manual received a couple of Christmases ago! 😄

I'm looking forward to digging in—aware that reviews have been hither and thither.

There's a positive aspect to the six monthly dental appointment—crossing the road to the Oxfam to check out the books.

Score! A couple of Wallanders that I hadn't picked up yet, plus Old Manchester Tales, with this delightfully titles final chapter.

Cthulhu Hack: Conditions offers an expanded look at and a non-definitive list of conditions that investigators may experience in the line of duty.

In the same style as the site for Sanction, you can sort the books by Core, Toolkits and Adventures.

There's a slight overlap. Haunter and Ignorance, for example, are both toolkit and adventure, but they're mainly toolkits that offer guidance or system tweaks.

In the process of updating the website for Cthulhu Hack.

The old site didn't link to all the PDFs, and some of the Print links were outdated.

I'm not expecting to get everything updated all at once. It'll take a moment.

Memories served up in imagery: running a game of Cthulhu Hack in the lower floor of Heffers in Cambridge, back in 2018.

I'm reasonably certain I'd be running Save Innsmouth.

We were also there to check out the shop's collection of All Rolled Up game rolls.

Well, @richardcoles.bsky.social debuted his Faroese jumper on the 1505 to London this afternoon. It was knitted by the same lady who knitted Sarah Lund’s jumper on The Killing.

Alas, Richard hasn't Skeeted for 11 months, so I'll post on his behalf.

Big time jumper envy 😍

It's Halloween 🎃 but the pumpkin carving has been left terribly—horrifyingly—late.

We have a cat and... Well, it's either a self-portrait or Alan Carr. I'm not sure which 👻

I wanted to take the original adventure that formed Nocturnal Rites and add a layer of example and explanation that reinforced how Cthulhu Hack does things different from the norm—notably, the discover and then roll for impact or revelation mechanic, served up as a Break.

That day, three years ago, when I struggled to get close to that famed picture of Doctor John Dee, advisor, alchemist and angel-chaser to Queen Elizabeth Tudor.

I ran Dread: Dredd recently, and will again soon. It's was great fun. Nice to have the tension building around the stacks and the should-we-shouldn't-we decisions of whether to push an extra block for added effect.

I ran it for a Revelations. Weird and a little bit saucy. Great artwork.

I love @kholbatar.bsky.social art, so wanted to continue the flow of reposting, even though what I create is... I'll say "unskilled" in comparison 😂

I have my moments.

Reskeet with yours.

It's an interesting system combining elements of two interations of Fate with new subsystems that support the game's themes. Zone-based space combat was fun to play out at the table. I used snakes-and-ladders to shortcut the complexities of getting in and out of a secured station and it's systems.

As if by strange magic, @louiestowell.bsky.social, I just picked this up at Waterstones.
October 25, 2025 at 11:29 AM
Waterstones, on Deansgate, has been good enough to furnish me with new reading of an apposite nature for #DeeSanction research, while simultaneously being heavily unfurnished due to a massive refit.

Is it just me that wastes perfectly good creative bandwidth redesigning other people's RPG covers because my mind can't not get distracted with pointless tasks?

Yes, no one asked. Yes, it will sit on my hard drive until I delete it. Yes, it's pretty much a waste of time. You're welcome.

Buried Dreams was a runner-up in the recent Dee Sanction adventure writing competition. The quality across the entries was great—so tough to choose winning entries.

Dreams has a fascinating premise, a solid timeline, and it digs beneath London's skin. Buy it!

For those not familiar with The Shape—otherwise referred to as The Man Without a Face—it deserved to be a returning villain if Sapphire & Steel had continued. Assignment Four was a creepy tale of lost children, troubled souls, and forgotten photographs. My Nighthawks scenario was that return.
